OBJECTIVE

• By modeling the program, we wanted to find out the differences in climatic components among five cases;      Wooded Wetland, Mixed Forest, Urban&Built-up Land, Mixed Region (Forest+Urban) and Realistic case.

• By modeling program WRF by applying the appropriate LANDUSE type for Korea, we wanted to check the various weather conditions and Sea and Land Breeze of our country. Also, we would like to analyze our country's urban region weather, and check if the Heat Island Effect* occurs when it becomes urbanized.

 

    * Heat Island Effect :

      This refers to the formation of a hot area (Heat Island) in the center of a city where temperatures are higher            than those in the suburbs. The formation of Heat Island is caused by the effects of artificial heat or air                      pollution in urban areas.

• Each LANDUSE type contains various variable values, as well as Roughness Length. However, these values do not differ significantly for each LANDUSE type. Roughness Length can vary significantly depending on the ground condition so we thought to change the values of Roughness Length of Urban type and make effective results for future urban planning.
